Stab-N-Grab series 2 came to an end this Sunday with Filip's victory. He
has won both Stab-N-Grab series so far. Congratulations Filip! The list of
participants continues to grow with ninty-three to date.

The final Stab-N-Grab of Series 2 began with Lisa and newcomer Taylour
facing off. The more experienced Lisa took down Taylour with no mercy
(5-1). Next up was Michele (the foilist) versus Michele (the college
student) and the foilist didn't show much more mercy than Lisa did with
a win (5-2). Frank and Stefany followed. Frank took Stefany down in quick
order (5-4). Taylor and Ken finished round one with Ken working hard to
beat Taylor (5-3).

Round two began with Joe and Lisa. Joe started down three and Lisa took
full advantage of that winning (5-1). Michele (the Foilist) fought newcomer
Mark and showed no mercy again taking the victory (5-1). Libby fought Frank
and wasn't able to get that one touch to take him down and Frank moved up
(5-4). Ken fought Filip and wasn't able to get the one touch he needed to
take Filip out either (5-4).

Round three began with Lisa and Michele, both of whom had been killers in
the previous rounds. Lisa maintained her edge and took Michele down (5-3).
Next up was Frank and Filip. The crowd was pretty uneasy about both these
four time winners still being in the competition. Alas with so many of the
regular stronger fencers being absent there wasn't much that could be done.
It was a one touch bout and both fencers took their time and Filip was able
to catch Frank with the one touch that mattered and Filip moved up (5-4).
The final was Lisa and Filip. It was Lisa's first time in the finals and
she was pretty excited about it. Filip was calm and collected as he fought
the battle to win his second Stab-N-Grab series. Lisa fought her best and
almost won but Filip was able to get the final touch for the win (5-4) and
be the only winner of both Stab-N-Grab series.

The next Red Rock tournament is the Holiday Tournament
December 18th - Foil and Epee, pre-register on AskFred.

There are no lessons, just pure fencing. Free to all Red Rock members.
UNDERSTANDING THE GAME
The Stab-N-Grab has a built in handicap, for each time a person wins,
they start the next Stab-N-Grab down a point. Also if a rated fencer
joins in the game mid-season they match the highest point handicap.
