Total Fencers 12

It was a glorious Sunday. The weather was perfect. It was one of the ten
perfect autumn days in Vegas. All was right in the world. The proper and
appropriate food was brought in for the pot-luck. All fencers were in a
good mood. Everyone's equipment was working. It seemed the fencing gods
were happy in their divine fencing salle smiling down on Red Rock.

The days fencing started with John and Jessica. In an upset Jesscia clearly
defeated John (5-1). Eric and Everett followed. It was a great bout, Everett
with his smooth moves and Eric playing his second red line game. It was a
close battle but Everett took the win (5-4). Michele and Aubrey fought next
with Michele taking the win (5-4). Ryan and Libby finished off the first round
with Libby taking a surprise win (5-2).

Round two saw Stefany and Jessica start with Jessica taking the win decisively
(5-2). Everett and Frank followed and Everett was not going to let Frank get
even close to being a finalist this week, and got the win (5-4). Joe and Michele
faced off. Joe very much used his looonnnnggggg reach to snatch the victory
from Michele (5-3). Libby and Filip finished off the round with Libby getting
the one touch she needed at the last possible chance. Frank claimed that the
fencing gods must have been on her side since he even heard the click a touch
by Filip but no light went off and Libby just got the victory (5-4).

Jessica and Everett started the semi-final round. Much like Everett was not
going to let the one touch he needed against Frank stop him from moving up,
Jessica was not going to let the two touches she needed against Everett to
stop her from moving up. Jessica took the win from Everett (5-2). Libby and
Joe were the other bout of the semi-finals. The room was pretty sure Joe was
going to take the win. In fact, Libby was pretty sure Joe was going to take
the win, however she set her will and decided to give it her best. She often
fenced Joe but not in the tournament so she knew his style and knew she had to stay
out of range of his loooonnnngggg arms and legs. With the crowd cheering her
on Libby actually, something near a miracle, managed to get the last touch
and defeat Joe (5-4). The final then, was two women, a first in Stab-N-Grab
history. On this day, the fencing epee god smiled on Libby and for the first
time since the inception of the Stab-N-Grab, Libby actually won (5-3). Yippee!!!!
