There was a light turnout on Halloween after an evening of fencing the
day before. The Halloween Rumble was great fun but apparently wore
everyone out or they were getting ready to go trick or treating to collect
all that candy. So it was only the really serious fencers, or in Frank's
case with only ten people he was plotting his fifth victory and Stab-N-Grab
championship. However, the fencing gods were not in alignment with Frank's
plans, but more about that below.

Frank and Jin

Magic Pants Dettrick started the day against Joe. It was a battle of giants,
or at least the two tallest members in the club. On this occassion Joe's
experience and reach was too much for Andrew (5-1). Victor and Michele were next.
It was fairly amusing to watch the two foil fencers fencing epee. It seemed
like a lot of unnecessary parrying and reaching for the body. victory took the
win (5-1). Round two began with Frank and Joe. It seems that Frank figured
out Joe's strategy and defeated Joe (5-4). Ken and Stefany followed and Stefany
toppled Ken (5-3). Scott and Aubrey followed with Scott having to work to get
his first victory (5-4). Jin and Victor followed with the epee fencer Jin defeating
the foil fencer victor (5-4).

Round three began with Frank and Stefany. Frank was pretty excited about the
match-up as he was confident he could beat Stefany. Stefany tried her best but
Frank did manage to take the win (5-4). Scott had to fence Jin and since Jin
is moving better these days it was an even match. In the end there can be
only one and Jin was the one on Halloween and took the victory (5-3). The final
was Jin and Frank. Frank was hopeful for his fifth victory but Jin was having
none of it and took Frank down (5-3). At first it was a little confusing reading
the score sheet because someone had crossed off Jin's name and written Frank's
but in the end the true winner was recognized and Stab-N-Grab series number two
continues for another week and everyone strives to keep Filip and Frank from winning.
