Total Fencers 15
Two new Stab-N-Grabbers made an appearance this week. Our total is up
to 89! Welcome to Joe and Justin (a.k.a. JJ). Justin was with Red Rock
two locations ago and it's great to have him back. Joe saw a brief write-
about the Stab-N-Grab in the local publication 'Seven' and decided to
check us out. Joe hasn't fenced in several years but seemed to pick it
back up pretty quickly. Once again, there was plenty of food. All in all
it was a great afternoon with plenty of the things that we Red Rockers
enjoy, food and fencing with a healthy dose of Red Rock Attitude!

Fencing started with Stefany and Jessica having a go at each other. Stefany
is definietly getting better but Jessica took the win (5-2). Everett and
Frank faced off, neither was too excited about having each other as their
first bout. Frank, however, lost (5-3) so he was more unhappy about it than
Everett. Michele and Andrew followed with Andrew's long reach overcoming
Michele's sneaky left handed fencing (5-2). Pierce and Amanda fought again,
since they faced each other the week before with Amanda's experience winning
(5-4). Filip and new comer Joe fenced next. Although Joe won, Filip gave him
quite a run for his money (5-4), and considering Filip started 4 touches
against him, that's saying a lot. Ken and Justin were next and Justin's
saber-like style defeated Ken (5-3). Libby and Eric finished the first
round with an upset and Libby winning (5-4). Eric gets the good sportsmanship
award for the day, admitting to a leg touch that the director had thought
was a floor hit.

The next round began with Kris and Jessica, two lefty's. Seems the club
is swarming with them lately. Kris was able to take the win (5-4). Everett
and Andrew followed and Andrew's reach toppled Everett (5-2). Amanda and
Joe faced off and Amanda was able to overcome his long reach (5-4). Justin
and Libby finished the round with a close one where Libby took the win (5-4).

Round three began with Kris and Andrew. This time Kris's experience was
able to overcome Andrew's reach and Kris took the victory (5-3). Amanda
and Libby followed with a surprise win by Libby (5-3). The final was Kris
and Libby, much to Libby's surprise. Unfortunelty her luck ran out and
Kris was not taking any prisoners and won (5-3).

UNDERSTANDING THE GAME
The Stab-N-Grab has a built in handicap, for each time a person wins,
they start the next Stab-N-Grab down a point. Also if a rated fencer
joins in the game mid-season they match the highest point handicap.
