Total Fencers 13
Stab-N-Grab number 28 saw the return of Scott Carlson, who has been
missing for quite awhile. Negotiations with Frank resulted in Scott
starting with no touches against him. Good for Scott, not so good
for the rest of us. He's a left handed powerhouse and several people,
although happy to see him return, were not so happy that he has no
touches against him. I guess the good news is that he'll start with
one against him next week, but I get ahead of myself. As an added
bonus people brought in homemade cookies and lots of fresh fruit which
softened the blow of Scott's return.

Scott & Austin

Libby and little Patrick were to first to fence. It was Libby's first
time in a long time to be a puppy kicker and it seemed she took no
offense at the win (5-1). Magic Pants Andrew got to fence Frank. It was
actually one of the more exciting bouts as both fencers were out for
the win. Andrew's magic pants gave him the boost he needed to win (5-4).
Austin and Everett followed. Austin fresh out of Fencing Summer Camp
used his honed skills to knock Everett out of the competition (5-1).
Stefany and Jessica were next and Jessica wasn't taking any prisoners
and won (5-0). Joseph and Fiip finished round one with Joseph taking
down four time winner Filip (5-3).

Andrew and Austin
|
Pierce and Libby started round two with Libby taking the win (5-3). Austin
and Andrew faced off and Austin got past Andrew's incredibly long reach
in what was one of the most intense bouts of the day (5-4). Michele and
Jessica followed. It was two left handers and Jessica again was out for
the win (5-3). Lastly, Joseph and Scott fought. Scott's reflexes and ex-
perience won out against Joseph's long lunges (5-1).

Austin and Scott
|
Round three began with Libby and Austin. Austin had another close bout
and won it with a perfect fleche on the last touch (5-4). Jessica had
her second bout against a left hander, only this time it was Scott, who
has a lot more experience and a much longer reach. Jessica had some beautiful
shots that caught Scott by surprise but not quite enough to take the win
from Scott (5-3). The final was Austin and Scott. Austin gave Scott quite
a run for his money and he had to work for every touch but in the end
Scott took the victory (5-3) and his first win in series two of the
Stab-N-Grabs.
