We had two new people join the Stab-N-Grab fun on Father's Day. We have
now reached eighty-five people who have participated at least once. I'm
hoping that we can reach 100 before the end of the year. Wouldn't that
be an amazing thing. Jessica also showed up again. She's been out sick
with broncitis for what seems forever. On her first day back she makes it
it to the finals - way to go Jessica!

Michele and Filip started off with Michele taking Filip out quickly. It
does help that she only needed to get a single touch on him (5-1). Greg and
Amanda followed the Greg taking the win (5-`). Libby and Ryan fought next
with Ryan winning (5-4). Frank and newcomer Aubrey faced off and Aubey was
determined to take Frank down and she succeeded (5-1). Little Patrick fenced
the other newcomer Ben. Ben got the pleasure of being introduced to the
term "puppy kicker" as he wanted to win but didn't want to crush Patrick.
Patrick gave it his best shot but Ben's reach won out (5-1).

Round two started with Michele and Everett. Everett was able to move past
the foil fencer (5-4). Greg faced Ryan and made quick work of him (5-1).
Stefany and Aubrey followed and Stefany had her first victory in a Stab-N-
Grab and moved to the semi-finals. Ben had some real competition this
round facing the returning Jessica. Jessica was able to slip past him to
victory (5-1).

Everett and Greg began round three with both fencers seeing this day as
a good opportunity to make a grab for Pierre. Greg was able to maintain
his foward movement and toppled Everett (5-2). Stefany fought Jessica
and Jessica's longer reach brought her victory. The final was Jessica
and Greg. There was much encouragement for Jessica but Greg was out for
blood and had visions of Pierre in his eyes. It was a struggle but in
the end Greg's reach (including leaning) won the day (5-4).

UNDERSTANDING THE GAME
The Stab-N-Grab has a built in handicap, for each time a person wins,
they start the next Stab-N-Grab down a point. Also if a rated fencer
joins in the game mid-season they match the highest point handicap.
