Total Fencers 10
It was a light turnout on Sunday. Only ten fencers showed up to try their
luck at winning Pierre. Of course with only ten people the smack talk got
pretty bad. Several of the competitors were trying to pysch-out their
opponents. Perhaps to balance the lack of fencers there was a ton of food.
It was the best of high carb type food; chocolate cake, cherry pie, chips
and dips, strawberry pie and more! I have to admit it was tasty after working
up a good sweat fencing.

There were only two bouts in the first round because we had to use a sixteen
person tableau. Jonah and Stefany started the festivities with Jonah winning
(5-2). Michele and Taylor were up next with Michele mixing up her epee, saber
and foil moves to foil Taylor (5-3)(sorry I couldn't pass up the bad fencing pun).

Round two started with Eric and Jonah. Eric has been absent lately but
apparently tennis is not affecting his fencing and he won (5-3). Andrew
and Libby followed and Libby was able to vindicate her loss from last week
by taking down Magic Pants Andrew (5-2). Frank and Greg the Kiwi, faced off
and Frank took the win (5-4). With his win over Greg, Frank's eyes began to
twinkle with the possiblity that he might get his fourth win. Michele and
Jin followed and Michele was able to slip by Jin's fast hands (5-4). Jin
described himself earlier in the afternoon as a "stabbing instrument of joy",
it sounded pretty cool, so I thought I would share the idea.

Round three began with Eric and Libby. Eric spent his time on the red line
but was able to take the win (5-2). Frank and Michele followed. Michele
almost got past Frank's reach but alas, no. Frank took the win (5-4). Frank's
twinkle grew into desire as he sensed the possiblity of Pierre once again
resting in his arms. Eric and Frank faced off for the final. Eric was out
for victory and snatched Pierre from Frank's eagar embrace by winning (5-3).
After that the group commenced to seriously eat, drink and fence with gusto.
STAB-N-GRAB IS CANCELLED FOR NEXT SUNDAY DUE TO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND
