On the day after an Ironman, seventeen people showed up for the Stab-N-Grab.
With Corporate Challenge just around the corner we had three newcomers show
up. We're at seventy-eight people having participated in a Stab-N-Grab.
It's wonderful how Corporate Challenge brings people back to fencing as
well as getting people introduced to it for the first time. There is one more
Sunday left until the Corporate Challenge after this event hopefully we'll
get a few more people show up and discover the fun of fencing.
Round one started with newcomer Bill and Stefany with Stefany taking the win.
Michele and Kimberly followed with Kimberly winning. Round two started with
Tony and Stefany and this time Tony won. Jack and newcomer Miguel followed
with Miguel winning. Scott and Jeff fought with Jeff upsetting Scott's plan.
Taylor and Jim faced off with Jim moving up. Frank was victorious over John.
Andrew upset Alan and moved up. Ava and Greg saw Greg take the win. Kim and
husband Sean fought and Sean won, and perhaps he gets to sleep on the sofa tonight.
Round three started with Tony and Miguel. This time Tony's experience took down
newcomer Miguel. Jeff and Jim fought next with Jeff moving up. Frank faced
Andrew and Frank was not able to overcome his three touch handicap and lost to
the magic pants of Andrew. Greg and Sean finished out the round, with Sean moving up.
Round four saw Jeff toppling Tony's pirate style, Arggghhh. Andrew faced Sean
with Andrew beating the southpaw, Sean. The final then was Jeff and Andrew.
In an upset Andrew's magic pants took him to victory. I should probably mention
that the reference to Andrew's magic pants has to do with the new fencing knickers
that are still bright and shiny and he claims gives him good luck.
